    3. Hi Kay. I posted a "Roll Call" for Joe Smith yesterday. Contained all of the information we know about my Pop's (Don)Smiths. Cheers. Lori -----Original Message----- From: Kay Davidson [mailto:kdavid2410@comcast.net] Sent: Thursday, May 11, 2006 10:54 AM To: ILSALINE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ILSALINE-L] THREAT / THREET families Don ... those are the stories that are priceless! Which branch of the Smiths are you kin to? I'm doing this research for my aunt, who lives outside Hburg. Her mom was Fannie Smith Reed, daughter of George F Smith & Sarah Threat - I believe he had a brother who settled in the area as well. Kay

    2. kay---want some more "color?" milas threet wife's name was lizzie. besides son bill, born in 33, was a son named bob, born approx 28/29. bob had his eye shot out when we were kids playing in an old barn. he was looking through a crack in a horse stall when another boy shot a bb gun at him. went right through the crack and hit bob in the eye. was blind in that eye till day he died. milas also would give us kids a free ride back to "chick hill" at night when we didn't have a dime, which was most of the time.----------ah those were the days don smith

    3. Lori - although I'm subscribed to the List, for some reason I miss a lot/most of the traffic. Didn't see the one you posted yesterday. Must be something to do with spam filters & I don't know how to "fix" it. If you wouldn't mind, could you cut & paste & send it directly to me - kdavid2410@comcast.net. Thanks.

    3. Dear Kay- I have received 2 emails about the Threat families-I think you may have the wrong e mail address --my family was from Saline Cty.--but Cave in Rock area--and my mother grew up in Harrisburg/Eldorado/Elizabethtown. It was strange to get the e email because I had been looking through her notes about the Mott & Shaw families thinking that I should continue the search for information...if you have any info about Asa Newton Mott, Grace Shaw, Frank Shaw, Harriet (Bauer) Shaw, or James Henry Mott, e mail me! Sincerely, Dee Fiene (granddaughter of Asa & Grace)

    3. Thanks so much for the little tidbit of info - I think I may have that individual identified, but it's always interesting to get a little "color" on people. Apparently the name Milas has shown up in the family since the early 1800's. Kay

    2. Kay Davidson
    3. In recent research, I've found several references to the Gulley or Gulley Hill Cemetery, Independence Twp. Apparently, it's not included in any of the Saline Co. cemetery books. I'm looking for information on the following burials at Gulley: THREAT, Mrs. John, died 25 April 1909 MCGOWAN, Mrs. Cal, died 28 Feb 1911 HOLLAND, Mrs. William, died 15 Sep 1917 Thanks!
