Hi Linda, One way to check on activity for a given list is to go to Rootsweb and take a quick peek. For example, for the Pope County list: Go to Rootsweb.com, click on Mailing Lists, select IL under USA, and then find Pope County. If you click on "Browse the ILPope Archives," you will see a list for every month and year that Pope County has been active within Rootsweb. Click on the most recent one, and you will see if there has been any activity on the list. If there has not been, then you know you haven't missed anything. Does the name Frank GEORGE (aka Frank Yorch) from Bremen, Germany ring any bells in your family tree? I have a book "Declaration of Intention-Saline County, Illinois for the years 1906-1919 and 1930-1950" by Rebecca Schmook that includes that name. He was living in Ledford (between Harrisburg and Carrier Mills) in 1937. I can transcribe the whole paragraph if this is of any interest to you.
