Norm, The birthplace info on both John Johnson and Polly Greer came from the "Harrisburg Funeral Home Records 1907-1965" by B. Moore, pg 72 , James Johnson. The family is tied into my Rice line thru James. I have very little else except for the names of 6 kids and then quite a bit on James and descendants. Donna, What do you have on your John Johnson and Polly Greer? I have John as being born GA. Norm
What year was your John from Tenn born ? Mind was 1833 and I don't know his parents . They moved to Ky. and he was orphaned and lived with a family who mistreated him . He ran away and went to Hamilton county , I found his marriage to Martha Jones was in 1858 in Hamilton county . They also said he might have changed his name . Judy
They are to be mailed shortley. Karen KDavid2410@aol.com wrote: > Haven't gotten mine either, and I'm current. > > Kay

I am new to the Saline Genealogical Society, however my Shawnee Quarterly came just fine. I did notice that my mailman had placed the quarterly inside a magazine. Experience tells me to leaf through my magazines. Not saying this happened to anyone else, but is a possibility. Sincerely, Myrta Elizabeth
I got mind , no problem . Always anxious to receive it . Still looking for any infro on the John D. Johnson family from around that area and Galatia. I do know now that one of his children married a William C. Williams , that would be Lucinda and I think she lived in Harrisburg . I understand one of her children married into the funeral home family . Would that be Courtney's ? Does anyone know if you can get old records from the 1900 ? I am at that brick wall and can't seem to get thur . Any help would be great !!! John's wife was Martha Jones from Hamilton county , they married in 1858 . Thanks , Judy Johnson , Spfld , IL.
Anyone out there: My money is limited and I live too far away to examine a copy so can anyone give me an idea of the book's value for me? I am writing a history of my family, the Morris side of which goes back to the early 1830s in Saline/Gallatin County. The Heltsley side came on in Eldorado in about 1918. I'd like a book like that to address things like immigration migration patterns, slavery-non-slavery, farming, mining economies, religion and the European origins of the settlers. Maybe it's a tall order, but a book should at least touch those things. If this book does not, what does it do, briefly? Ernie Heltsley/Tucson
I haven't received mine either.

Hey all, Has anyone had the trouble that I've had in locating surnames in the search engines like "Day" and "Brothers" which are also common English words? Even when you put a qualifier like "surname" with it, you get all kinds of irrelevent links.
