    3. This name is not in the records of Grand Pier church, Pope Co., or Big Creek, Hardin Co. I haven't been able to obtain the records of Little Flock at Ozark in Johnson Co., or Rock Spring near Simpson in Johnson Co. A Mr. Kerley had the records I think, a few years ago, of Rock Spring (the building and cemetery are still there as far as I know), but I don't know where they are now. We of course would love to obtain a copy. We have a fund set aside to microfilm or zerox the records of any Illinois PBC at no charge to the church. 3. I found today that Elder James Tate was in fact a member of Rector Church at one time, and also another one in that area for awhile. I don't have too much info on Rector Church (there were two Rector churches, both PB, one was organized in 1825 as a result of large numbers of people joining North Fork church near Broughton. This Rector church grew mightily and lettered out members to organize Little Spring and I think others, also, and then faded away. Another Rector was revived in about 1872, and we do not have its records either but I think I know where they are. If time permits, at some point I will try to check to see if the association minutes say anything about his death, if I can remember I will let you know. 3. No, I'm sorry, but I do not. This, I think is a missionary Baptist church, not Primitive. It could be a general Baptist, not sure, and may be the result of the division of one of the churches over missions. Can't remember at the moment. 2. Ms. Crawley, Sorry, I can't help you, but maybe you could help me. Did Charley Thomas Scott tell you of any of his experiences while living in Eldorado. If so, I would appreciate your telling me about them. I am writing a book on Eldorado and my family's former home. Did he say any good things or bad things happened to him or his neighbors? Is Plainview around Eldorado? Have a good day. Ernie Heltsley/Tucson

    1. [ILSALINE-L] LOOKING FOR DEATH/BURIAL OF MY GRANDFATHER/GRANDMOTHER
    2. Georgetta Crawley
    3. I hope someone there in Saline County or another researcher can help me locate the death and burial place of my Grandfather Canalas Meander Scott (aka C.M.; Corneilas; Carnalas, Carnalis) and Grandmother America Vienna (Williams) Scott. Grandfather was born 29 Jan 1852 in Hamilton Co IL and married Grandmother when he was 25, living in Plainview IL. They were married 27 Mar 1879. They were in Saline Co IL according to U. S. Census 1880. Their children were born in Eldorado IL (Saline County). The youngest was born after 1891 so I'm sure they must be buried there in Saline County. Can anyone help me find this information, please. Also have an Uncle Charley Thomas Scott, their oldest son, who was born about 1882 and died in about 1968 or thereafter. He lived many years in Saline County where I met him (Harrisburg) when I was about 11 years old. He is buried there in the county and it would be somewhere around Harrisburg? I would appreciate any help you can give me. I don't have a way to get there and physically search. I live in the Sacramento Metropolitan area and am 63 years old. Have only a few gaps like those of the above to be filled in on my family. Thanks, I'm doing this for my grandsons, Scott and Philip. The charter members, who were dismissed for that purpose from Bankston's Fork Church, were John Hall, Matthew Hall, Henry Hall, William Hall, Stephen Caldwell, Elizabeth Rogers, Sinthy Hall, Polly Caldwell, Prudence Hall, Rhoda Abney, Elizabeth Jones, Elizabeth Hampton, and Sally Williams. Some of the pastors of this church included Elders Wilson Henderson (1826), Charles Lee (April 1834), William Gholson (October 1834), Joseph Tucker (November 1835), William Thomas, Achilles Coffey, J. T. F. Lewis (1849), Thomas Spain (September 1852), Thomas Coffey, John Gibson, C. M. Weaver, C. C. Mitchell, L. P. Harriss, W. E. Weaver, and A. H. West. Middle Fork Church united with the Muddy River Association in 1826, and was dismissed to go into the organization of the Bethel Association in 1829. When the division came in the Bethel Association, in 1900, this church went with the Absoluter faction. The church dissolved in 1932. In November 1840 Middle Fork Church agreed to build a new meeting house near the old one. These first two buildings were probably both log structures. In August 1846, and again in August 1858, the church appointed three trustees to obtain a deed for the church property. In September 1866, the church agreed to hold their winter meetings at the Hall Town school house. In March 1869, the church agreed to sell their meeting house. In October 1870 the church appointed trustees to procure a deed for land on which to build a new building, at Hall Town, which was done. The next month a building committee was appointed to superintend the construction. This building was used by the church until it dissolved, and it stood for many years afterwards, until it was finally torn down. In answer to your other questions, my book is in my computer and may not be published in hardbound book form, as I will probably continue to work on it indefinitely. 2. Mr. Webb, Do have records on Liberty Baptist Church in Harrisburg, IL. I'm looking for information on Rev. John Caswell Russell, 1823-1877 Phil Russell

    2. Robert: would you happen to have any information on the Primitive Baptist Church in Union County or Webster County Kentucky? I have an ancestor, Benjamin B. Pullam, b 1828 d 1891, who was a deacon in the Primitive Baptist Church there. Any information would be appreciated regarding the Pullam family. Carol Krajnik

    3. If I live a few more years, I hope to do a lot more research on our churches in Kentucky. So far I don't have much, but have gained more in the past year than all the years before since our PB Library was organized in 1988. I could check to see if we have an obituary for him, but that is all I would know offhand. 3. Robert, Not knowing exactly what types of information your records contain, I don't really know. Maybe there would be baptismal records, marriage records, etc., perhaps for some of his family members as well. My brother, who is now deceased, told me that he read a history of him (perhaps in an IL History Book). Thought maybe there would be something similar to this in your records. I would appreciate anything you find that would give me a feel for his life. In my research, I also find a Rev. William Tate. Don't know for sure what church, but James' father was William. If you happen to find anything to that effect, there are several of us interested in William.
