Georgette: Derby is way down in the southeast corner of Saline County. It is about a mile or two north of Garden of the Gods park. J.B.

Donna There was no John Davis in the 1850 census. In 1840 Saline County hadn' been formed and 1840 census only listed the name of the head of the house. In the 1840 Gallatin County Census there was a John Davis listed in Shawnee Township. Also 1 male 15-20 and 1 male 20-30. 1 female 5-10, 1 female 20-30 and 1 female 50-60. Hope this helps. Since I've never actually lived in Saline County and can't find either township in the map atlas, I can't help you further.
