1) In one "group" at the McPherson Cemetery it lists the following: Patton, Pearlie O. 1899-1924 Margaret B. 1905-1924 Charles 1896-1924 Allen 1901-1938 Watson 1870-1948 Sarah Jane 1875-1958 How are these folks related to each other? Was there an epidemic of something in 1924? 2) In my database I have Ed Miles married to Mary E. Sutton. Does Ed also have a sister named Mary E. MILES ?? The cemetery records have a Mary E (1881-1959) listed next to Nora E (1900-21) and Martha S (1887-93) -- ch of Robert N (1852-1922) and Elizabeth (1855-1933) Miles. 3) In my database I was given the surname FURH - in the cemetery records and Social Security records is shows FUHR - which is correct ? In reviewing a list of those buried in the Love-McPherson Cemetery (also know as Black Cemetery) in Hardin County, Illinois, raises the following questions. Hope someone can help me, please and thank you ---- 1) Listed as: Margaret Waters (1837-1877) w/o C. P. Waters is this Charles Waters (b.Nov 21, 1872) s/o Jonathan Grant Waters and Martha Jennie Warford? 2) Is Martha WARFORD Waters a sister to David T. Warford, who is the husband of Elizabeth BLACK Robertson? 3) Does anyone have any info on the following 3 children of David and Elizabeth Warford - Ida, Sarah (Sadie), and Colonel? 4) What is Colonel Warford's given names? I am guessing that Colonel is a title and not a given name - ?? Kathleen LaRose Love is patient, love is kind....bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Darrell, Thank you for your response. I thought that is where the Fort was located, but couldn't figure how from TN to So. IL the firing could be heard. Perhaps the IL Historical Society wanted to spice the story, since you think of all the timber during that era. Those cannon balls must have been more powerful than we ever imagined. Thank, Linda

Could anyone tell me where Fort Donelson was located between Marion, IL and Harrisburg. According to the Journal of IL. State Historical Society, April 1934, Vol. 17, #1, The owner of the carding mill in Marion was "bribed" with 10 free acres to move his mill from Marion to Harrisburg and as his family traveled from Marion to Harrisburg, they traveled during the battle at Fort Donelson hearing the guns. Although I have roots in that area, I haven't been there since I was a baby. I am just now beginning to trace my family. However, it may be a long shot, but I do know some Cox's here in arkansas. You might contact them, I believe they may have roots in that area. cox@arkansas.net _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
I am hoping to find information on the John W. Cox and Anne Cox Family. They resided in Harrisburg all their life. Their children were: Woodward married Mary Bonnie Ethel married Coy Waddell Walter married Alta and had 1 daughter Carl married Nell and had 5 or 6 children Merle married Jewel and had 1 son Eva (deceased) David married Hattie had 1 daughter Vernie never married. David Cox and Carl may still be living in the area, or their children. I am the graddaughter of Bonnie and would like to find any of the Cox family to continue my genealogy of the family line. Thanks for any help. Bonita Moss Davis
