She didn't die until I was 18. Unfortunately, I never asked questions. When one is young we don't think of those things. 3. DORRIS I have been unable to send e-mail until now because of a server problem. There is a Dorris Newsletter that is sent from Tennessee. You can contact David Gibson at [email protected] for the Dorris line and to subscribe. The subscription is $12 per year plus you can get back issues if wanted. The letters have been in existence since 1995 by Gene Dorris, who to the last of my knowledge, was last in China. Anyone interested in the Dorris line should contact David. 3. Green Berry and Rebecca Dorris Bush are the parents of Mary "Polly" who m. James McDermott in 1856. I show her birth date as 1839, but one source told me that it was 1832. Her siblings were Elijah(my gr gr grandfather), Wm. B., Nancy Ann, Furrinbush, Elizabeth, Stephen, Clarissa, and Greenbury(I think he was the one in the Civil War and went by the name Berry. 2. Thanks Kent for responding with the information that Stonefort was part of Twp 10 in 1870, and the specific pages Stonefort is on in the 1870 Census. Hopefully the Groces are there in one of their alternate spellings ie: Grose, Gross, Grofs, Grohs, Grows, Grace, Grass Groese etc, and I will be able to find them with your helpful hints that have narrowed it down where I have to look. There are also a couple of brothers and a father that might be there too if you would be so kind to check your index again for me: Richard V. Groce, who would be 21, Willis Murdock "Mock" Groce, who would be 19 and father Pleasant Groce b KY 1818 who would be 52. Thank you again for your help. Georgianna Mitchell
