I would appreciate it if someone could look a marriage up for me for Hugh Henshaw and Mattie Swanner (Swaner). I have no idea when this would have taken place. Possibly in the very late 1800's or early to middle 1900's. Mattie's maiden name I do not know. She was also md. to Charlie Swanner in the 1910 Williamson Co., Stonefort Twp and was age 24. Therefore, she probably was md. to Hugh Henshaw after 1910. Thank you, Linda

In my notes for Charles Sherman DUNN (b. January 19, 1865 IL d. July 2, 1926 in Saline Co., IL) I have the following: From Funeral Records; Gaskins Funeral Home; Saline Co., IL; (RFH; IL; 977.3992; Reyn; V. 1); Willard Library, Evansville, IN: Page 92, DUNN, Chas. S., born 19 Feb 1865, died 2 Jul 1926, O'Gara #1 Mine, buried Vineyard Cemetery, Order given by Ulysis Dunn. Is there an inventory available for Vineyard Cemetery? Where is it located? Does anyone know where Katharine "Kattie" RUSSELL (b. Abt. 1814, d. 1860 in Saline Co., IL) wife of James DUNN is buried. I think she may also be buried in Vineyard Cemetery. Sam Smith
Thank you! Is there a cemetery list or book someplace for that location? An official list of everyone there..or is it too small. What funeral homes would have been in the area at teh time? Would their records still be in tact?? Leanna, The only "official" list would be whatever is recorded in the death certificate either in Harrisburg or Shawneetown. Sincerely, Jon Musgrave www.IllinoisHistory.com P.S. There are still a few copies of the Handbook of Old Gallatin County and Southeastern Illinois available at www.IllinoisHistory.com/Handbook.
I have been told my gggrandmother, Mary Lancaster, is buried in Gold hill cemetery but I did not find her name in the list of those resting there. Is it possible she just wasn't on the list? Does anyone know who would know about that cemetery? Leanna, It is very possible that Glen missed her tombstone, or that it had falled over, or that she may not have ever had one. There are a number of mistakes in Glen's compilations of the cemeteries. No one has ever spent the time to correct them. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Gold Hill was overgrown when he visited. It's almost impossible to reach during the summer. Hi Steve- Re Berry names I have a Littleberry B. Johnson born about 1805 in either TN or IL. His sister was Licha Johnson. She married John Pemberton who was mentioned just the other day on the list. Am interested in how he came to be named "Littleberry." Also am interested if anyone is familiar with the name "Licha."
Hi Steve and all, Anyone have an idea why "berry" of some sort or other were apparently popular names in the 1800s and perhaps early1900s.There were a couple of Greenberry... names mingled with my Heltsleys in Muhlenberg Co., Ky. One I can think of was Green Berry Roll, who married a Heltsley. There were others. Ernie Heltsley
