Henshaw, 90, of 1311 S. Land St., Harrisburg, died 5:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Harrisburg Medical Center. Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Richard Hubble officiating. Burial will be in Saline Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home. He was born April 10, 1913, in Stonefort to the late William Riley and Martha (Dunn) Henshaw. In 1946, he married Juanita McDonald, who preceded him in death in 1986. He was a World War II veteran who worked for General Motors in Pontiac, Mich. He is survived by a stepson, James O. Ward of Washington; a sister, Louise Owen of Manteno; grandchildren, Sharon and Scott Spillman of Seattle, Wash., Cynthia and Jim Shaver of Washington, Richard and Kelley Ward of East Peoria, Sandra and Joe Davis of Washington and Julie and Tom Lewis of Owensboro, Ky.; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Marie Glodo of Carbondale, Floetta Hill of Golconda, Charles Henshaw of Manteno, Dean Henshaw of Simpson, Carl Henshaw of Mesa, Ariz, Gary Henshaw of Marquette, Mich. and Lloyd W. Henshaw of South Elgin; and a special friend, Elsie Stricklin of Harrisburg. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Riley Henshaw and a nephew, Vonnie Henshaw.

    3. I am searching for information on any BENNER or MAPLE families in Saline Co. John and Sarah Hartzel BENNER came to Saline Co. abt. 1860 from Scioto Co., OH. Two of their children married into the MAPLE family. I would be interested in any information on these two families. I know that some of these families are buried in Kious Cemetery in Brushy twp.     3. Same here, there were no PURVIS marriages in Saline in that time frame. What were the birth dates (or at least app. year of birth) for Sam and Martha?? Where were the Purvis family prior to this, since there were no Purvis marriages in Saline (and only 1 in Gallatin Co) I assume they came here late in 1800's so their prior residence could be a clue to this marriage... Unless this marriage took place in a county that has not put their marriage records online (like Hamilton Co) there is no Jones/Purvis (or alt. spelling) marriage in IL in late 1800's...
