I have had no success with information for my husband who spent time at this orphanage. My husband name is William Andrew Bordenkecher. I did leave another message today for Ms. Michele Bianchi and I did not get a reply back. It amazes me that everytime I get close maybe to getting somewhere it ends up a dead end. I did put this pursuit down for about six months but now I am ready to start researching this again. All we want is baptimal records, confirmation records, school records, and any indication of why he was placed in St. Joe's. I have photos of the place on my site, tree... if you google on the map the address of St. Joseph's you can see the building is still there. It is a massive building. It was used as a hospital for the civil war soldiers and they say it is haunted. It is next to the Stephen Douglas memorial.
