She was married to Lew Bowman. Her parents were Mary Quinney and William Dick, of the Stockbridge Munsee band. William Dick, who died in 1933, at the Milwaukee Infirmary, was known as the "Last of the Mohicans" because he was the last known person who could speak the Mohican native tongue. I am also looking for Philena's son, Elmer Bowman, who was born in 1900 in Shawano and lived in Milwaukee until he died, I believe. Lew Bowman died in 1929 and is buried in Shawano County. Philena is not buried with him. Any leads to obituaries would be greatly appreciated, possibly an online death index search for Milwaukee County? I haven't been successful.
