Brockmeier 30.12.1916 Birth 11.11.1918 Death 1.1.3 Joseph Cecil Brockmeier 1919 Birth 1965 Death in Pacific, Franklin Co., MO / USA Route 66 Death Toll Mounts - Area Men Die in Wreck A Pacific man were killed in automobile accident on Highway 66 Tuesday. Dead is Joseph Cecil Brockmeier, 46, of Pacific. Mr. Brockmeier was killed at 6 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 66 3œ miles west of the Highway 141 junction when his late model car slammed into the rear of a dump truck going up a steep hill. He was pronounced dead on arrival at. St. Louis County Hospital. According to the Highway Patrol, Mr. Brockmeier's car knocked the dump truck forward and it then rolled down the hill and an embankment, turning over. The truck driver, Elmer Wilcox, 48, of Fenton, jumped from the truck before it turned over and was not injured. Both vehicles were travelling east at the time of the accident. The Patrol estimated the speed of the truck at 20 mph at the time of the collision and Mr. Brockmeier's car at 70 mph. The Brockmeier car was demolished. Mr. Brockmeier is survived by his wife, Lela (nee Williams); a son, Ronald Brockmeier, Pacific; his father, Joseph F. Brockmeier, Pacific; three brothers, Eugene, Alva and Clyde Brockmeier, all of Pacific; and a sister, Mrs. Ruby Govro of Austin, Tex. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Thiebes Funeral Chapel in Pacific, The Rev. William Skasick will officiate. Burial will be at Midlawn Memorial Gardens near Union. 1.1.4 Clyde H. Brockmeier 01.12.1920 Birth 12.11.1990 Death Clyde H. Brockmeier of Pacific passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, at his residence, having attained the age of 69 years, 11 months and 12 days. Mr. Brockmeier, son of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Johnson) Brockmeier, was born on Dec. 1, 1920 in Crescent. He graduated from Pacific High School. He is survived by one half sister, Ruby Govro of Texas; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jean Brockmeier of Pacific, and Lela Greenwood of Springville, Tennessee; one nephew, Ron Brockmeier and his wife Diana, of Pacific; cousins and great uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Alva, Joseph C and Eugene Brockmeier, one half brother: Homer Law; and one sister: Viola, in infancy. Mr. Brockmeier served his country with honor in the United States Army. He enlisted on Nov. 30, 1942. Within two months he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He served in Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and Normandy as a railway conductor, supervising freight and passenger trains. He was awarded four Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal, among others. He re-enlisted on Dec. 31, 1945 and was honorably discharged on Dec. 20, 1948. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Columbia of Pacific. He was employed as an auto salesman for Kinkel Chevrolet and Weist Chevrolet, and also the City Collector for the City of Pacific from 1976 until 1985. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. A memorial service was held Friday, Nov. 16 at Nieburg-Vitt Thiebes Funeral Home in Pacific with the Rev. David Bradley officiating. Internment was in the Allenton Cemetery, Allenton. He and June Iretha Francis were united in marriage in June 1967 and she died August 11, 2008. Mr. Brockmeier was a retired Printer and served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Survivors include: three daughters, Carol Hudson of Sedgewickville; Joanie Sheaver and Diana Watts both of St. Louis; brothers, Robert and James Brockmeier both of St. Louis, a sister, Betty Benson, Rector, AR, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
