I just cam upon it. The Backofens mentioned in the obits are of my family. Elsie Classen was my grandmother. The parents of Elsie are Robert Backofen and Freda Gramke. Robert Backofen came to America in 1887, from Saxony. Were you ever able to connect August with this family. I'd be most interested to know.
