Rockford Register Star (IL) - September 27, 2002 Deceased Name: Albert DeFalco, 86 SOUTH BELOIT - Albert DeFalco, 86, of South Beloit died at 12:39 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in Beloit (Wis.) Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 25, 1916, in Chicago, the son of Mauro and Anna Russo DeFalco. Albert graduated from Crane Technical High School in Chicago, and took numerous classes at Beloit College which added to his knowledge for his position. He lived 25 years in Chicago, moving to South Beloit in 1941. Albert married Matilda Campo on Sept. 20, 1941, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Rockford. He was employed 40 years at Fairbanks Morse & Co., retiring as a supervisor in 1981. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Member of VFW Post 2306, 3rd Degree member of St. Peter's Knights of Columbus Council 8021 and Fairbanks Morse Quarter Century Club. Also member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where he was active in the finance committee, building and grounds, usher and bingo supervisor. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Matilda son, Mauro (Marsha) DeFalco of Roscoe d! aughter, Laura (Larry) Pann of South Beloit grandchildren, Micheal DeFalco of Wonder Lake, John E. (Coral) Shanks and James A. "Her family was always first in her heart." Age 78, entered eternal peace at her home on June 2, 2004. She was born in Chicago in 1925 and moved to Raleigh, NC in 1989. Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Eugene James Hansen; her sister Marie and brothers, James, Joseph, Albert, Mauro, Daniel, Eugene and Richard; survivors include three children, daughter Janis Hansen and son-in-law Harvey Obenauf of Raleigh, son Les Hansen of San Diego, CA, daughter Kim Podraza and son-in-law Chris Podraza of Raleigh; grandchildren include Joya Hansen of San Diego, Kane, Cole, Kara Podraza of Raleigh and Jessica Obenauf; along with several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law include Andree DeFalco, Betty DeFalco and Matilda DeFalco. The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Maha Elkordy for her kindness over the years as well as nurses, Donna and Joy, of Hospice of Wake County for their care.
