Do you have a copy of her obit? Or her death certificate? These may indicate whether her husband had died and when. To try to track down her obit, I would ask a librarian what newspapers were available then, and who has them now. You can email the Southern Illinois Library Network: http://www.shawls.lib.il.us/askaway/questionpoint3.html You could also call the Albion Public Library at 618-445-3314. They don't have a website. You could contact the Edwards County Clerk to order her death certificate (I read on one page that it only costs $1, but I'm not sure whether that's still true.) See: http://www.naco.org/Template.cfm?Section=Find_a_County&Template=/cffiles/counties/county.cfm&id=17047 (There's an email link to the County Clerk on that page.) Also check with the Edwards County Clerk on how to find Mollie's will and probate records. Her death certificate should indicate where she is buried. Once you have that, you can call the cemetery to see who is buried in the same plot (hopefully, Frederick!) Actually, you should try to track down any and all obits, death certificates, or wills for any of Frederick's siblings, children, relatives, etc. Also, from the 1930 Census, Frederick was a clerk for the railroad. You MAY be able to obtain info on him via the Railroad Retirement Board (although this looks a little expensive.) http://www.rrb.gov/mep/genealogy.asp I hope that one of these ideas will help you find Frederick. If I think of anything else, I'll post it... Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
