Mary, I tried tonight to find something for you in Illinois, where I live. Checked the State Archives for marriages with no luck. I found one interesting possibility in 1900, Lawrence County, Christy Township. There was a 5 year-old Louisa born 1895 granddaughter and a 9 year old grandson, Harry Anderson, living with their grandparents. They were both born in Illinois, as were all the kids of this couple. The grandfather is James Eyepoch(k)? born in Tennessee, age 53. It is the second marriage for his wife, Louise, age 45 (could she perhaps be Francis McDonald's mother?). She states she had 11 children, 7 still living. Maybe Harry and little Louisa were orphaned? Birthdates are often wrong. This couple had 5 children with them, besides the grandchildren, ages 26, 22, 13, 8, 6. I also looked for a marriage certificate for this couple with no luck. If you think this could be a possibility, I could look for death certificates on Francis and Luella tomorrow. Joan
