The Illinois State Genealogical Society is hosting the 11th annual Genealogical Institute of Mid America (GIMA) in Springfield, Illinois from 10-14 July 2005 on the campus of the University of Illinois-Springfield. This year teachers in Illinois can earn continuing education credit for attending GIMA. There will be four separate four day lecture series, presented by the following instructors: Michael John Neill Across the Atlantic – European Research After 1840 Sandra Hargreaves Luebking Research in Action Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck Bridging the Atlantic, 1640 - 1861 Pamela Boyer Porter Computer Resources in Research The courses are taught by a distinguished faculty in a small class setting that features excellent student/instructor interaction. The Institute also provides students with an opportunity to meet and share information with a cross section of fellow researchers. The GENEALOGICAL INSTITUTE OF MID-AMERICA is a four-day program of formal instruction, discussion, and intensive studies.
