Let me know if you wish for me to expound on any of the following: 1930 Montana Census A widowed Laura Fine lives with her son Carey Fine, divorced. 1920 Montana Census Laura Fine, born Ohio, divorced, lives alone 1910 Montana Census and/or1920 Census (I can't remember and took only short notes) Carey Fine lives with his 2nd wife Nellie and many children 1900 Montana Census Carey and Contance Fine live with her brother Lewis Butterfield and his uncle, Charles Protsman. Carey's place of birth is given as Michigan, the only time a place other than Illinois was mentioned. Carey's birthdate: July, 1876 Laura and Henry Fine live in the same area as Carey and family. Laura lists 2 children with 1 surviving. California Death Index Carey L. Fine b July 2, 1873; d. 22 Sept 1965 mother maiden name: Prostman LDS Files http://www.familysearch.org/default.asp Carey L. Fine born July, 1876 in Adams County, Quincy, Illinois (birth records were not kept in IL till 1878!) Laura F. Protzman married Charles A. Losey 6 Oct. 1873, Mercer, OH There's also the 1899 date of Carey's 1st marriage. 1860 Mercer County, OH David Protsman family with Laura F. age 12, born OH 1870 & 1880 Mercer County, OH David Protsman family without Laura. Laura's age never makes sense. Henry Fine was a bit younger that she--probably why she took years off her age.
