So, I zeroed in on this record. Pinkney Maybee m. Elizabeth Moffitt on the 5 June 1870 in Ripley Co, MO 1870 Missouri, Ripley Co. Johnson Maybee, Pinkney 54 Eliza 34, KY Moffate, James, 14, IL MOffate, Josephine, 8, IL January 23, 186?: Elizabeth Moffit applied for the Civil War pension benefits for John Moffit 1860's: John Moffat served in Co C 3 IL Calvary enlisting at Frederick, IL 1860 IL, Schuyler County, Fredrick Moffit, John 27, Canada (French Canadian, maybe???) Elizabeth 23 KY James 3, IL John Moffit married Elizabeth Mack 12/03/1855 in Schuyler County, Illinois You should get some confirmation of the above if you order the pension records for John Maffit of Frederick, IL. In order to apply for the pension, Elizabeth would have submitted affidavits with birth dates of her children.
