I'm looking for connections to the James Humphries family of Knox Co., Ill in 1850. The 1850 census has it spelled UMPHREYUS. The first record found for James and Lucinda (McDaniel) Humphries is in Ohio 1830. By 1840 the family had moved to Knox Co., lLL. That census states that they had 2 sons born between 1830 and 1835 that I cannot account for. They also had 2 daughters, Mary E. and Sally for which I have no information. James moved his family to Decatur Co., Iowa by 1856. The 4 children mentioned above are not listed there with them on the 1860 census. I have information for James and Lucinda’s other 5 children, John G., Elizabeth, Martha A., James, Jr., and Perry S. Humphries. James, Jr., stayed in Iowa while the other 4 children moved to Cass and Jackson Counties, MO. around 1870. If any one has any information on this family I will happily exchange information.
