I am familiar with German Valley as that is where my father was born. I had forgotten what the name had changed to. The reason for the change according to the story from my long deceased father was, during the war the germans were decriminated on and the name "German" had to be changed to eliminate this problem. Then after the war and everything settled down, the name was changed back to German Valley as it still is today. Hope this little info is helpful to others too. Alicia
