How about when he was born so we know his age at death. Also if you know the daughter's name and if married, her husband's name, then we might be able to find the county. Did she have sibs--do you know anything about them? Without a county it will be next to impossible. Illinois didn't require death records until 1916. We did find a death announcement (nothing like an obit) for one great grandfather here in 1890 but not a thing for his wife in 1891. Joan in Illinois
