I did receive a response in the mail today to my request of May 4th. It is not very clear-cut. It says "Taken under act of 1845 as amended 1855." Then under 1845, it says "Taken July 1-Oct. 1" My only question would be if the person gave you "July" got his/her information by just looking at a copy pertaining to a relative. I really do think it was usually more than 1 month. I noted that under 1840 it states "Time for completion extended to Jan. 1, 1841. I think if you want to be sure, you'd need to order the film for the particular county and see for yourself. Joan
