George Johnson appears in the 1870 census of Hennepin, MN. He signed his sister's wedding certificate as a witness with his wife, Annie, in 1872, and that's how I found him in Hennepin in 1870. It's the 1860 that I am most interested in. Since their residence was marked Thornton (for both boys) I'd think their mom, dad, and at least their sister Hannah, born 1855, would be in Thornton if these two boys enlisted in 1864. Their Dad bought land in Kandiyohi, MN in 1865. I'm thinking maybe they all moved up there after these two boys were discharged in 1865. Hans was living next to his father in 1870 and George was in law enforcement in Minnesapolis.
