Dear Karima and List I can appreciate your comment about discussing Family Tree Maker on this list, however Id like to address that please..As someone who is fairly new to this, (and being on webtv rather than a computer) I dont know about alot of the places (like Family Tree Maker) and the ones I do know about and have tried to navigate, I can sometimes get a hit. but most times not, so I have asked "how" to use these sites when I get to them, where to look,what to input etc...and I didnt even know there was a URL for Family Tree Maker list, so though I understand why youve asked to put an end to this thread I really appreciated reading it and the information I gleened from it. As a "newbie" I can use all the help I can get : ) I just wanted to explain it from this end. Thanks to everyone for all the great information you post.. Can anyone tell me how I can find out where these dwellings were located? this is from the 1860 US CENSUS Tompkins Township IL page 227 Dwelling1574/Family1584 Thomas RILEY,33,farmer b IRE, Mary,52,bIRE,William,13 b IRE Iam trying to find this location and if Thomas was Marys husband or son.Mary is my greatgreatgrandmother...In 1870 she is in Iowa as a widow with son-in-law Lawrence FITZSIMMONS so I dont know who my greatgreatgrandfather was or anything about him.Also William, as far as we can tell was born in IL not IRE. It is believed they came to the US about 1843, and had a daughter,Bridget also..who is mentioned here 1860 US CENSUS Tompkins Township IL p0age 232 Dwelling1610/Family1620 Lawrence FITZSIMMONS,22 Day Laborer, b. IRE, Fidelia16, b IRE "Fidelia" is aka Bridget, Adelia, Deilah, Delia, Odelia, Adelia, Odillia, Adillia,Bedelia,Bedellia,...so far I have found her listed in some of her childrens baptismal records with all these different names... I know Bridget was born in IRE came to USA about 1843..married Lawrence in 1856 in Warren County IL..I have never seen ny records this is just what Ive found online, a newspaper announcement.. I thought she was about 16 when they married, but could be wrong, if this census is right!!!! The family and Mary moved to Iowa and many years later to Nebraska where Bridget died, somewhere in Nebraska, in about 1903 -1904, cant find anything about her at all anywhere...Mary also moved to Nebraska and died in Omaha August 1907 but cant find any obit for her either..
