Parents & silbings of Riley unknown: Riley Johnson m: unknown children by Riley and unknown: John N Johnson b:1860 IL d:1829 Rockwall, TX death cert states father-Riley, mother-unknown, fathers place of birth-IL. Johns middle name was Newton but spelled many ways on census and death cert. Will or William b:? IL or TN d:? Will had 2 sons Carl & Herman or Hiram Johnson. My Aunt born 1915 was raised in Lamar Co, TX. She remembers Uncle Will and his sons. They lived in or near Rockwall, Lamar CO, Childress, Perryville or Pattonville TX 2nd marriage of Riley Johnson to Mary Clark b:1839 White CO, TN d:1928 Lamar Co, TX parents of Mary Clark (Luther & Susan(Whitefield) Clark). children of Riley and Mary: Melvin Edward Johnson b: April 1870 Illinois d: after 1930 Childress, TX. Riley Robertson Johnson b:9 April 1872 TN d:1956 TX (my grandfather) I can't find a marriage record of Riley & Mary 1868-1869 TN or IL. Mary was 31 yrs when Melvin was born. I can't find any reason for Mary to be in IL. Her parents and siblings lived in White CO, & Putnam Co, TN till their deaths. This leads me to beleive she met Riley in TN married in TN and then moved to Illinois and had Melvin. I think Riley was in TN with relatives after his first wife died, perhaps leaving his first 2 children with relatives. No proof of this. I can't find Riley Johnson and his sons Will and John N in IL or TN census 1850,1860,1870. Mary shows up in 1880 dist 8, Putnam Co, TN with Melvin 9 IL,IL,TN and Riley R 7 TN,IL,TN living with her sister Sarah Rowland as head of household. Did Riley and Mary move from IL to TN before he died in 1872? Did Mary move back to TN to have her baby after her husband Riley died? Does Rileys parents live in Illinois or TN. I'm searching for information on Riley Johnson, his first wife, son Will or William, Riley's parents & siblings.
