Dear Priscilla and Joan thank you both so much. Yes Priscilla I have the date of marriage for Lawrence and Bridget RILEY (Fidleia, Adelia, Bedelia etc etc) she has so many aliases I dont know which one to look under, and FITZSIMMONS I have found FITZSIMONS,FTZSIMMONDS,FITTSIMMONS,FITSIMONS,FITZSIMONES among other spellings, so Im having quite a time trying to find anything at all about these people (my great and great great grandparents).Yes I do have the 1900 census, they were in Nebraska then where Bridget died about 1903-1904 but cant find a record of that either. What I do have is 1860 census for IL(Warren County) in 1870 and 1880 they were in Iowa, about 1891 they moved to Nebraska and are in the 1900 census. This census has her name as Bedelia! The earliest I can find her is the 1860 census and she is married, her mother is in the same census in Warren County it reads RILEY Thomas 33, farmer born IRE,Mary 52,born IRE William born IRE age 13. Now in doing the math in the different censuses for Bridget it would seem they came to the USA in the 1840's but if that were the case and she was 16 as the 1860 census says, she would have had to come later came as an infant, unless she was born here.. and so would have William. But all the census have her arriving in the USA about 1843-1844,yet she would have been born about those years..Im sooooo confused!! Other census say William was born in IL.If the RILEYS came anytime before 1845-1846 and Williams age is correct he would have been born here.. Dont know if this Thomas was Bridgets brother or father, and in the 1870 census her mother Mary lives with her and is a widow.Iam trying to find anything that will tell me what Bridgets age really was, and who her father, my great great grandfather was. was he Thomas? Idont know......and what happened to that Thomas in the 1860? Did Marys husband die between 1860 and 1870 census. These arent actually questions for you (unless you want to answer them lol)just sort of to show you why Im taking this avenue in researching..Since I cant find anything at all before she married Lawrence,I was hoping a marriage record, application, newspaper announcment etc/something might help fill in the blanks. Does anyone know if there are any newspaper wedding announcement online for the 1860 period in which they were married in Warren County. Also, for some reason I cannot get around on the IL state website, possibly because my webtv is very old (Iam not on a computer) so searching there isnt much of an option for me. If anyone can suggest any other websites Id appreciate it. Thanks again Joan and Priscilla : ) Cris Atwater CA
