I have an obit from March 8, 1956 Sibley Gazette-Tribune, Sibley, Iowa for Claus Helmers. Known survivors at that time in the obit listed John Helmers of Fairbury, IL and Mrs. Lena Mehrken of Chenoa, IL. Claus, John (Johann on church records) and Lena (Magdalena on church records) would have been first cousins of many Bredehoefts living in Missouri.

Just FYI....Kendall County has a community called Helmer.
