It doesn't mention a husband, but what is interesting is that it mentions that George had 5 grandchildren, which leads us to believe these must be the children of Dolores because at the time of his death none of the children from his current marriage with my grandma were married, and none of them had children, so we can only conclude that these 5 grandchildren had to belong to Dolores. Thanks for the tips about posting, rather new to using the message boards just within the past few months, but so far they have been so helpful, so many generous helpful individuals out there willing to help out families. And sometimes we have to search in a roundabout way to find the specific info we're looking for. I still can't find George O'Brien anywhere in 1930. In 1920 Shirley Henderson is with her parents & siblings in South Beloit, Winnebago co, Il. but in the 1930 Rock co, Wi. census, she & sister Thelma have left the nest. But in the Henderson household is a 16 y/o married Lucille O'Brien. (Lucille Henderson was 6 on the 1920) So know I'm more confused. I'll have to study these findinggs a bit more. My mom is going to try to dig out her copy of her father's obit to see if it makes mention of Delores/Dolores and where she was living at his death. My mom was barely 20 when her dad died and she never met Delores in person as I estimate Delores to be about 15 years or so older than my mom. Yes, George lived in Winnebago county with his uncle Irving and aunt Susan and his first marriage took place there, he married Shirley Ethel Henderson and they had one child there, Marion Ruth O'Brien. It appears that Marion may have died within days of her birth as another researcher found her name in the death index in that county about ten days after her birth. The library in that county has birth records online through the early 50's and I looked through those records and George never had any more children in that county. From what my mom remebers her mother telling her is that George divorced his first wife Shirley and mar! ried Shirley's sister, name unknown, and that she is the mother of Delores. I don't know for sure if that is true, but it is my only potential lead. I did see a couple Delores O'Briens born in Cook county, but with that being such a populated county I don't know where to start because if I requested every birth certificate and marriage certificate for Delores O'Brien I would be spending a lot of money. I do know that she would have been born between 1928-1938 based on that fact I know where George was before that and after those dates. My ultimate hope is that Delores is still alive and she and my mom can connect, but if she has passed perhaps she has children we can connect with. Because George had lived in Winnebago county that is why I was guessing she had likely been born in the top half of the state. Do you have any suggestions or other advice or ideas for me? She was born in Illinois, but I am not sure of what county, but I am pretty sure it was in the north half of the state. I am not sure of the mother's name, all I know for certain is the father George, who was born in Rice Lake, WI and that is where he moved to after he divorced the mother of Delores. Delores did come to the Rice Lake area to visit her father at least a couple times. I don't know an exact birth date, but I have a really good idea of a window of time, she would have likely been born between 1928-1938.
