The Social Security Death Index shows that his zip code was 60629 which is the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, closest cemetery would probably be Resurrection in Justice. The Longmont Ledger Longmont, Boulder Co, Colorado Friday December 28, 1906 Death of Two by Drowning A very distressing accident occurred on Cole's lake, 1 œ miles north-east of Berthoud about noon on Wednesday. A party of about twenty young folks were skating on the lake, when Lloyd Armstrong, a young man nineteen years of age, broke through. Everett Munson, about seventeen years of age, went to his rescue and went in also. Albert Sampson attempted to help them and he too went in but succeeded in getting out after a hard struggle, being assisted by a rope secured from a nearby haystack some possessed with enough presence of mind to do something. Munson and Armstron were both drowned in full view of their helpless mates. Everett Munson was the only son of J. Y. Munson, County Commissioner of Larimer county, and Lloyd Armstrong's mother was a widow named Briggs. She and her son came to Colorado last summer for the benefit of his health. It was a horrible accident, more so because it seems so unnecessary. Mr. and Mrs. Munson can have the satisfaction of knowing that their son did a noble deed in fearlessly going to the help of his companion in danger. Funeral services will be held in the Presbyterian church today at Berthoud, and the remains of Everett will be brought to the Longmont cemetery for interment, while that of Lloyd will be sent to Illinois. Note: There are more references to the Munson and Armstrong family in the Longmont Ledger Directory. If you are interested in any of the references contact me at acg13666@yahoo.com and I could get a copy on my next visit to Longmont. Who would I invite. For starters I would like to invite my Gr Gr Grandparents. John and Martha Eaton York. John's father Jeremiah is my Rev soldier I have lots of questions for him. The York's and Eaton's were some of the first settlers in Crawford county. I have John and Martha documented 27 June 1822 when they married in Crawford County. Martha's parents were Benjamin and Phoebe Eaton. Would like to know Phoebe's maiden name can't find anywhere. Would like to know about William Eaton Martha's grandfather. Would like to know why Benjamin and Phoebe were buried on there farm and not in the Eaton Cemetery as it was called then. Eaton's gave the ground that the Grand Prairie Church is on and also the cemetery next to the church. So many of my ancestors are there. John Eaton lived down the road from the church and his home is still there Eaton's still live there. I have much documentation and dates. But there are so many little questions that will never have answers only what you might assume happened. John and Martha for starters. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone. I would invite my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Anderson Lawrie. She was born in Scotland, married ggpa James Brown Lawrie. She had a daughter before the marriage, Jemima...when, who, etc., and why didn't she come to Illinois with them? She joined ggpa James in Illinois (Plano in Kendall Co) in Sep.1883, he coming a 'year' sooner. What was the trip over like...I know you had the five boys ages 1-7. I know you were seasick the whole way. Tell me more, please. Tell me what was in the carryon that you forgot to bring...the bag with all the "precious" must-keep things? Did you ever find out more about it? Tell me about the relatives in Scotland. I have some names...are they right? Was Uncle Jim a drunk? Was your mother special as I've heard? What was your life like there? What was it like arriving in Illinois? How did you get settled in? Your obituary sounds like the community thought you were a wonderful lady...I know my dad (Robbie) did. And so did his cousin (Don). What did you do with them? What did you cook for them? What kind of boys were they? So many little things ... if I knew them I would know so much more about you. And I wish that I did! Your Great-granddaughter, Kristy
