As you may know, the SS5 itself will contain Lester's parents' names, and Lester's address and occupation at the time he applied for his SSN. Based on the information in your query, I presume this is the individual you're researching: BEARDSLEY, LESTER 27 Apr 1911 May 1971 In the meantime, it's impossible to know where he died, and thus where to look for an obituary. Naturally it would be most reasonable to begin looking in the state of Illinois, if that is indeed his last known whereabouts. Having said that, this OH death record may be a match: Ohio Deaths, 1908-1932, 1938-1944, and 1958-2007 about Lester E Beardsley Name: Lester E Beardsley Birth Date: 1911 Gender: Male Race: White Residence County: Hamilton Residence State: Ohio Residence Country: United States Death Date: 4 May 1971 Hospital of Death: Fort Hamilton Hughes Mem Hospital City of Death: Hamilton County of Death: Butler Certificate: 032062 Age at Death: 60 Certifier: Physician Marital Status: Married Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. For those on the mailing list who live in Illinois, some of us on my group trip to Salt Lake have expressed an interest in taking the train to Salt Lake's Family History Library this May and doing some "last minute" prepping on the train. Our group meets in Salt Lake on 18 May 2011. Amtrak runs from Chicago right into Salt Lake. If you'd be interested, there is more information at http://blog.casefileclues.com/2011/01/may-2011-trip-to-family-history-library.html or you can email me at mjnrootdig@gmail.com Thanks!
