    1. Re: [ILROOTS] Willard Warner
    2. Have you tried to find the family in 1850 to see if they were still in NY or had moved to IL? In 1860, they are newlyweds but have a 15 and an 18 year old (males) living with them and both have a ditto mark under the last name Warner. Are these brothers? The death certificate from the State of Illinois might give his parents names. Joan

    2. I had a look at the 1920 census that someone looked up for you. I believe the children's names are W. Harry, James M., Vernon, and Homer, ranging in age - 9,6,3 5/12, 9/12. Perhaps one of the boys was named for his father or borthers. Tried a few combinations trying to find him as a 22 year old in 1910 and a 12 year old in 1900 but couldn't come close. By looking for the names of the children, you might place him in 1930. Joan in Illinois

I am researcing Nellie Fox who was born Oct of 1890 in Illinios, according to the CA Death Index for her and her children. I found an 1900 census record for a Nellie Fox born Oct 1890 as an adopted child of Walter and Esther Fox in Chicago, Ill. Both parents born in England. Immigrated in the late 1880's I don't know how to double check this record for proof, or how to find out how/why she was adopted if this is her. Is there anywhere I can look/ask that might be able to help me? Any other place I can look that might help me decide this is actually her?
