Hi listers, I am interested in the answer to this question as well. I have two Illinois births: Mary WAINWRIGHT - born 1895 (Mother unknown, born England) Jeanette WAINWRIGHT - born 1907 (Mother - Dora/Medora (GREEN)(MERRITT) WAINWRIGHT, born Mich). Their father was John WAINWRIGHT who emigrated from England in 1880 to somewhere in Illinois. This has been a major brick wall in my research. If anyone can point me/us in the right direction, it would most certainly be appreciated. With regard to births and marriage records... you may want to contact either of these women and ask if they can help - here are their web addys: Molly - _www.mollx.com_ (http://www.mollx.com) Cynthia - _www.Chicagogenealogy.com_ (http://www.Chicagogenealogy.com) just go to their sites and then follow the link to send them an e mail - if they can help you, the charge is small - about 4.00. Sometimes they can get things that aren't on the indexes (years) for the secretary of state's site. Good Luck, Genealogyangel

A bit more looking around today made me think it probably was James you were interested in. Looks like his brother(?) Richard (wife Mary Ann and children) was in the same place. 1900 Iroquois County shows James CLOKE born September 1824 England, 75 yo, insurance agent (WOW - at 75 still working). Son William 18 yo (mother from England) living with him. Next household on the page is James' daughter's family, Jennie Adison (mother from Canada). I'm sure you will find the biography below quite interesting. Tells much about where he lived, three wives, and many children. Have it attached it with my other notes in a WinWord file which might read better than on an email. Let me know if you want any further research on this/these families. Been getting a bit bored lately and need to keep sharp. RC Nicholson in Texas http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Eilicgs/bio/page14.htm
