Carrie WARKINS (and brother, George) is shown in 1900 Bureau Co as born in May 1889 and in the household of her grandparents, John R. (born 1833 VA) and Sarah (born 1826 England). Just below, it appears to be her father John R. (born June 1863 IL) with new wife (married 2 years), Lydia A. They have a new daughter: Esther M. (Feb 1899 Missouri). An interesting note to this is that John R. the younger is shown to have his "number of years married" entry as 17 and is crossed out with a 2 entered above it. That would correspond with his earlier marriage to Nettie BREEDEN 22 Jun 1882. In 1910, this family is in Oklahoma but no Carrie is shown. I found a Charlotte Gunsch in 1920 in Wayne County, Michigan, 9th Ward, Detroit. She has two daughters, Mildred, age 6, and Ruth appears to be under 1 year old. It's (illegible) 12's, or so many months old of a year. Charlotte states she's married but no sign of a man. It also says she has no occupation. She and the daughters were born in Michigan (why did you think Chicago?) and her parents were German. The girls' father was born in Michigan as well. For some reason, the enumerator put both girls as in school, but I sincerely doubt the younger one was in school I couldn't find her in 1900 or 1910 on Heritage Quest. Maybe someone else could help you there or, if you are primarily interested in Mildred, maybe someone could do 1930 for you. I don't have access to that. Joan in Illinois
I found one 25 year old identified as Mr. Little living with a Piatt family, along with other farm laborers, in Piatt County, Illinois in 1860, but I couldn't find any Little's there in 1870. When do you think your Mina May was born or married Martin Nickelson? There were some Minnie Little's as brides but I couldn't find this marriage in the State Archives which are online. The only new information in all that time has been his DOB of 7 Mar 1885. It has been complicated by having some records show him as being born in ND, and others in IL. The first record I find of him is 1910 census in Phoenix, AZ. In 1917 he married Flora Ivester, 1918 a daughter, Annie is born. 1919 he dies of TB. We speculate he moved to AZ because of the TB. Oral family history has his parents as being Swedish immigrants. If you can add any possible piece of information to this, you would be my hero. Donna
