    3. Joan, I had a similar search for a cemetery. Did you check with the genealogical societies and/or libraries in each area? They might be of some help. 2. There's a forest preserve called Wolf Creek. Sometimes the locals have there own names for towns or places. A New Hampshire relative called her town (and others did it too) Samington in NH when it's really Sanbornton. I've been looking for a place nicknamed Lousy Ridge in Illinois for years. Have no clue even though I know the counties to look in. Joan in Illinois

    2. Hi Debbie - I looked at the 1900 census where the family is listed in Reno Co., Kansas, and Birt is not listed. It states Mary gave birth to 6 children and 5 are living. Maybe there's a mistake on the familysearch site. Father was Isaac James Abbott; Mother was Mary (Varner) Abbott. Birt was born in KS 18 Jan 1887. I know they were in La Salle Cnty, IL by 1889 because Birt's next 4 sisters ( Alta, Lela, Evva, Ester) were born in IL. (6 more after were born in KS) Family stories are he died when he was a child of a spinal disease but I can't locate where he died. The family was never allowed to mention his name after his death. What has me realy courious is at "LDS Fmly Srch" I found his death listed as 15 Jan 1905 but no location. This puts his death at 18 yrs; not as a child. His name is written in the family bible as Birt Louis Abbott. Any info on him, or his family, would be so greatly appreciated. His grandfather was John Wm Abbott and grt-grndfther was Isaac Abbott. Surnames: Rasmussen Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Fh.2ADI/5922 Message Board Post: Dear Illinois First sorry for the long letter. I am looking for information on Edgar Christian Rasmussen Name: RASMUSSEN, EDGAR Social Security Number: 375-07-8388 Date of Death: 5 Jan 1986 Date of Birth: 8 Apr 1896 Residence (2/88 and prior): Michigan Last Residence (Zip): 48216 Lump Sum Payment Location (Zip): Reliability of Data: Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. THEN I got help from a nice person on rootweb, Wayne and she sendt me this information for ILLINOIS. Someone help me? I sorry, I am not very good in english. EDGAR was born in Denmark and came to US, under 1. VW. Someone in Illinois maybe remeber him and his family or have a picture of him/them/ and other information? Here is the information about ILLINOIS (and Wayne): From Michigan Deaths 1971-1996, Edgar C. Rasmussen died 5 January 1986. He appears on the 1930 census (the last one released by the federal government) living on Lois Street in Dearborn, Wayne Co., Michigan. He is 38 years old and married. His age at first marriage was 34. He was born in Denmark as were his parents. He works in a boiler factory as an electric mach?-not sure about that-hard to read. His wife's name is May F. and she is 38 years old. Her age at first marriage was 16 and it appears that she has children from her first marriage living with her. They are Clarence Roger age 21 and a widower, born in Illinois and Frances E. Roger, age 15, born in Wisconsin.. It appears that Clarence has a child, Shirley M., female, age 2 born in Illinois. Edgar and May have a son, Edgar D. age 1, born in Illinois. The index to the census lists his age as 11 but Edgar C and May have only been married 5 years using Edgar C. marriage info and age. Someone in Denmark can help me translate, so just write as you speak, please. Hope you can find this family for me. Maybe Edgar D still living? or he got children. 2. I just took a quick Spevack search at Heritage Quest. It shows up for 1900,1910, 1920. It shows a lot from Bohemia, would this be considered Czech? If you could supply their birthdates, it would help a lot to identify possibilities. Joan
