Your Wojtch Spevack on Ellis Island website has his age as 17 in 1893. So, I'm assuming that it's his wife that immagrated to MO in 1888 (also assuming that she came to this country before Albert). Do I have this info correct?

    1. Re: [ILROOTS] OLD ONTARIOVILLE CEMETERY
    2. My advice to you would be to go to the town or county historical society. OR - If there is a library in town - you may want to call or visit and ask if they have a "Local History Department". If they do, the Local History Librarian should be able to help you by providing you with a transcription of the cemetery or at the very least, a location. If they don't have that, they may be able to put you in touch with an "old timer" who can relate some particulars. Good luck to you! Genealogyangel

    3. I've just been to Illinois and tried to find the Old Ontarioville Cemetery. Several people, including an 84 year old great aunt, told me it really no longer exists as a cemetery...that it was build around and the stones no longer exist. We found what we think should be the location but it looks like an empty lot surrounded by houses and a very busy street called Greenbrook Blvd.. My great-great grandmother CAROLINE (DEIDERDING) KINNECKE/KENNEKE/KUNNEKE should be buried there. Does anyone know the history of this cemetery and it's exact location?

We know Beebe and Williamson ended up around DesMoines IA but what happened to Cline, and did Beebe really go to Illinois, or bypass it on the way to Iowa. 2. May I suggest you go to USgenweb.com, click on Edgar County on the left. There's a lot of good information here and some people who are willing to do lookups in town records. If you are new at this, this and familysearch.com will be a big help. You can also do google searches on the names in quotes. This will often connect you with someone who is doing research on the same individual. Joan in Illinois

    1. Re: [ILROOTS] Epidemics in the United States 1628-1918
    2. I remember walking a well kept rural cemetery in the area around Bloomington IN about 30 years ago, before I was into genealogy. But I've always loved cemeteries. This part of IN has the stone--a very hard limestone, I think, that DC monuments and government buildings are made of, so headstones 150 years old were readable. I was struck by the number of families who had lost multiple children within a few days of each other. Some epidemic, local or otherwise, had swept them off. Typically, the parents survived. Had one of those families been mine, I'd have dug into records. As it was, I just wondered and grieved for those parents.
