    1. Re: [ILROOTS] Thomas Dodd born 1862
    2. Do you know anything else about either of these 2 Thomas Dodd's, such as were they farmers, coal miners, etc.? Any sibling names? Any wife's names. Born in Illinois but when did he leave Illinois to go to B.C.? There are at least two Thomas Dodd's with sons named Thomas but the birth year of 1862 for the youngest does not match. You have to remember that a death certificate is only as good as the memory and knowledge of the person who gave the information. I have many in my files with incorrect info. I'd like to help you but it's impossible without a few more clews. Joan in Illinois

Johnson was born May 3, 1870 in Sundsvall, Sweden. The Johnson family settled in ND. Thomas and Freda had a baby girl born Feb. 13, 1894 in Hope North Dakota and they named her Mamie Theresa Dodd. Freda died one month later - March, 1894. (I cannot find the birth records or death records) So I assume Thomas and Freda married near Hope ND and that Freda died there too.

    1. Re: [ILROOTS] Pelletier Ancestors (Peltier)
    2. Hi, I found a few clues here in Illinois. Since your grandfather was born in 1855 and lived in CT all his life, it doesn't seem likely his family came to Illinois in 1860. The first I can find of them is 1910 on Heritage Quest. I assume these are relatives. 1910 Kankakee County, Kankakee Township, 5-WD Joseph Pelletier, 48, Married 1, 28 years, 9 children, 6 living, born IL, father Canada/French, mother Canada/French, Laborer, Odd Jobs Wife (name illegible) 42, housewife, born Iowa, father Germany, mother France Mary, daughter 23, single, born Illinois, etc., housework, private family Frederick son 18, single, born Illinois, etc., factory worker Walter, son 17, single, born Illinois, etc., helper in Machine Shop George, son 14, single, born Illinois, etc., factory worker Monee, son 6, single, born Illinois, etc. 1910 (same location) Joseph P. Pelletier, Married 1, 3 years, 1 child, 1 living, born IL, father IL, mother IA, general laborer Nellie, wife 22, born IA, father WI, mother WI, sewing at home Joseph M., age 1/12 (1 is questionable), born IL, father IL, mother IA 1920 (same location) Josepth 59 Joseph 36 Joseph A., 26, Cook 31 WD, Chicago IL, born IL, father Can/French, mother IL, Factory foreman Margaret, wife 22, born IL, father IRE/Gaelic, mother IRE/Eng. Marie, daughter 4 6/12, born IL, etc. Margaret, daughter, 2 6/12, born IL, etc. Lorraine, daughter 9/12, born IL, etc. 1910 Iroquois County, Martenton Township Peltier, Joseph H., 36, born IL, father French Can, mother French Can Allie, wife 30, married 1, 10 Y, born IL, father IL, mother IL Peltier, Norris, brother 32, Divorced, etc. Hope this helps.
