Do you know anything else about either of these 2 Thomas Dodd's, such as were they farmers, coal miners, etc.? Any sibling names? Any wife's names. Born in Illinois but when did he leave Illinois to go to B.C.? There are at least two Thomas Dodd's with sons named Thomas but the birth year of 1862 for the youngest does not match. You have to remember that a death certificate is only as good as the memory and knowledge of the person who gave the information. I have many in my files with incorrect info. Freda died one month later - March, 1894. (I cannot find the birth records or death records) So I assume Thomas and Freda married near Hope ND and that Freda died there too.

I have a Dodd family, children born in IL ,1841 to 1860, father, Norris died in 1865 in Chicago IL . No Thomas in this family, but they may be related. I got my information from the 1860 Census, Henry Co, ILL.
