I am trying to find out anything about these families ?,the Barras came to America in the late 1800s,and sometime around 1900 the name was changed to? Delia then to Barre ....Raffaelle Barra was the first? one that I know of that came to the USA he became an citizen of America in 1895 and was killed in 1897 in Chicago,,he had a son George Barre(a) born in 1894 in Chicago which was my husband's? Grandfather all of the family stayed in or around Chicago I do believe.With the names being changed so much I am having a time trying to sort this family out can anyone please help,Thanks Evelyn Barre

James, just for the record, the 1930 census for St. Clair, Illinois shows that your gr grandfather, Frederick E. Mote, was born in Illinois.
