You don't mention birthdates, etc. MY Walter Krueger was born Dec. 24, 1889 in Manteno, Kankakee County,IL; died Mar. 11, 1960 in St. Paul, MN. He married Esther Hofstad Nov. 28, 1913 in Lyon County, MN. His father was Emil J. Krueger and (I believe) Freda Meyer daughter of John Meyer. Ann I don't know if the folks who have the record you want will do it online but I will give you the information so you can contact them and see. The Illinois State Archives has an index to all pre-1900 marriages in Illinois at http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/marriage.html so can identify the record you are looking for and the identifying information. They have other indexes as well. The records are held at regional archives known as IRAD (Illinois Regional Archives Depository), located at universities around the state. The IRAD that holds the Marriage Records 1859-1911 for Douglas County is Eastern Illinois University. The IRAD research policy is http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/irad/refpol.html and the addresses for the depositories are http://www.cyberdriveilliinois.com/departments/archives/irad/iradaddr.html. The research policy says that they only take requests by mail and they will send copies and send a bill (the last time I requested something it was fifty cents). However the Eastern Illinois IRAD is located at the library and the library does have an email request service. After you locate your record in the index (this is vital because the folks who are pulling records and making copies are students and do best when asked a specific record) you could send the library reference folks an email and explain your situation--if there would be any way to consider an email request in this case and if they would accept a credit card. The contact page is http://www.library.eiu.edu/requests/asklibr.html . I don't know if they would make an exception to their usual way of doing things or not but I hope this helps. I have no information about Ferdinand Krueger, but the Krueger-Lenz connection in your family makes me wonder whether there's a connection between the Krueger(Krüger)-Lenz connection in mine. My great-great-great grandfather, Gottlieb Krüger (6/8/1805-10/26/1838), was born in Pomerania and died there (in Basenthin). His daughter by Ester Maria Zügge (10/13/1801-Aug 10/1856) was Friederika Wilhelmine Henriette Krüger (2/2/1833-1877); she was born in Basenthin and died in Matthiashof. She married Franz Friedrich Herman Lenz (10/26/1828-12/24/1896) in Dischenhagen on November 21, 1861. Like your great-uncle Ferdinand, my great-great grandfather Franz Friedrich Herman Lenz emigrated to the USA (to Hoskins, Nebraska). I don't know whether he came with any of his Krueger relatives. Maybe these names and places will be helpful to you in your search to situate Ferdinand--and if they aren't, then we can both wonder about it.
