We are trying desperately to find her siblings. We don't know much about her family history, but the part that we do know goes like this: In 1944, Juanita Louise Crowder was married to Louis Crowder. They lived in Salina, Kansas. Their address was 505 N. 3rd. Louis Crowder worked for the railroad. He possibly worked for Union Pacific Railroad, but we are not sure. The initials on my mothers birth certificate say U.P.R.R. As the story has been told to my mother, he was away working for the railroad for approximately 1 1/2 years and when he came back he discovered that his wife had given birth to my mother. He did the math and quickly discovered that it was impossible that he was the father of the baby so he left. Shortly thereafter my mother was abandoned alone in a house and the real fathers mother was contacted and informed that my mother had been all alone in a house for three days with no food, no diapers and apparently no people. The real fathers name was John Leroy Bean. They made arrangements to go to Washington (where she was abandoned) and get my mother, and that is all of the information that! we have about that incident. We do know, according to the birth certificate, that Juanita Crowder had 4 other children before she had my mother, but we do not know if she had any children after she had my mother. We know that two of the children's names were John and James, and we assume that their last name was Crowder. We also know that Juanita Crowders maiden name was Woodard. We also know that, according to the birth certificate, her usual place of residence was at 4537 Prairie Avenue in Cook County in Chicago Illinois. The only other information I can provide is that, according to the birth certificate, both Louis Crowder and Juanita Louise Woodard were born in Memphis Tennessee.
