In the Rock Island Argus/Dispatch on Sunday, October 4, 1998 (yes, 1998) there was a paragraph on page G8 that is titled Mystery cemetery. It is the last paragraph of an article called "Digging into Q-C Cemeteries" beginning on page G1. I am quoting the paragraph. "Not much is known about Resthaven, across from East Moline's Northeast Park, but it is the resting place of patients who died at the former state hospital in East Moline and who had no families to claim their remains. Resthaven is maintained by the state, and visitors are not allowed." I was up early this morning and when sorting thru some saved newspaper clippings, this particular topic seemed to "leap" right out and grab my attention.
