Hi Audrey - I am new to this list and have noticed that you have responded to a lookup for another person on the surnames WELLS in Rock Island County, IL. While doing a search, I came across an item under Rock Island Co. Probate Case Files 1834-99 showing the names Charles W. WELLS and along side that name was Henry O. WELLS. My gr grandfather's name was Charles W. WELLS, b. abt 1832, OH. He settled in western IL, and I'm wondering if the above entry is him, and if Henry O. WELLS may be his father. If you come across these WELLS names, or have any suggestions as to how I might proceed to find him, I would deeply appreciate your letting me know.
