Could anyone on this list tell me if there are any other cemeteries in the Reynolds area that would be referred to as "Reynolds" cemetery - other than the main "Drury" Reynolds cemetery? I am trying to locate the grave sites of any Haefeles buried in the Rock Island area, and have information that states at least one - Alfred HAEFELE (and wife) - should be buried in "Reynolds" cemetery. There is supposedly a full listing on the Rock Island genweb site for Reynolds cemetery and I don't find any Haefeles listed there. Alfred's father - William Haefele - was my great grandfather's brother. According to information I have found, he was married to Annetta WAIT. I don't have information as to where either of these people were buried, but assume it may be where other Haefeles or Waits might have been buried? In the process of looking for William Haefele's burial place, I am also looking for the burial place of my great great grandfather Henry Haefele. Supposedly he left southern Indiana sometime in the 1860's(?) and, according to family history (Perry County IN), went to live with his daughter in Illinois. The family stories say he died in Rockford, but since I have not been able to trace his daughter (Christiana) or her husband (Peter Richard) there, I'm looking at the link to Rock Island - because of the similar name and William Haefele. I'm hoping Christiana and her husband went to live near one of her brothers (William being one) and this may eventually lead me to his burial site as well. Religion-wise, the earlier Haefele family members seem to have been Evangelical or Reformed. Supposedly, one of William's brothers became an Evangelical minister and the other a Methodist minister. My information for Alfred Haefele says that he and his wife were Methodist. Any help would be appreciated. thanks Jane jjpedesk@earthlink.net
