Hello All: I just received a copy of a marriage license from my ancestor who was married in Rock Island in 1871. I called the office to see if there was a marriage application and there was none. On the bottom of the license it gives the name of the minister —C.C. Knowlton or Knowltin of the M. E. Church who performed the ceremony but it does not list exactly where the church was - the clerk informed me that they had to be married in Rock Island someplace but did not know exactly which town. Can anyone give me some suggestions as to find out exactly what church this minister was affiliated with. Thank you - Ahlive
