A big thanks to everyone that answered my query on where to look in Rock Island County while I'm there. Another question I have: Besides Zion Lutheran, what other Lutheran churches were in existance between Pt Byron and Moline in 1870-1878. We know that at least 3 great aunts and uncle were born in that area. One burial info had listed East Moline as birthplace where her church records had Pt Byron. Thanks again for all the help. My great-grandparents lived in Cordova during that time period and were Lutherans. But instead of going south, they went north, and crossed the river to attend church at the Lyons, Iowa Lutheran Church. Don't forget people may have crossed the river to go to Davenport as well.
