My apologies for not writing a note of thanks to all of you who contacted me as to questions about the HAEFELE family in Rock Island county. I was bombarded (physically and emotionally!)by visiting in-laws for almost 2 weeks and have had little time for anything but cooking, cleaning, and listening to family stories. Fun, but exhausting! I had quite a few people tell me about the cemeteries in Reynolds, and had a chance to only respond to a couple of you. My thanks to all of you for your information and offers to look up information. The Rock Island historical society sent a great packet of information that I have just today been able to look at more thoroughly. I was thrilled to discover some names that may solve some mysteries for me, and may be writing to ask for a couple lookups just to confirm what I am finding. In 3 weeks, I am off to visit my hometown in southern Indiana and also visit nearby Perry county IN- where my great grandfather Charles HAEFELE (William Haefele's brother) settled. I'm hoping by then I'll have enough information to be able to clear up some of the family mysteries. If anyone is interested in the information I have on William Haefele's siblings/families, please let me know. I would be glad to share what I have. Again, my thanks to all of you. I don't believe I have ever seen a group of people more willing to help - it makes my yearnings to move back to the midwest even stronger! Jane Yeager jjpedesk@earthlink.net
