Does anyone know anything about the Chicago and Rock Island Railroad which operated during the 1800's(i. e. where was it headquartered, did it play a big part in Rock Island County history, what cities in the County were company hubs, when did the railroad go out of business, or was it known by another name, what were its main lines. Anything of value. I am researching a gg granduncle, Michael O'Sullivan who was an engineer on the Chicago and Rock Island railroad in the 1850-60's whose Illinois residence is a mystery.
