Thomas March 18, 1943 - December 17, 1999 Funeral services for Tommy A. “Tommy Joe” Thomas, 56, were held today at Day Funeral Home in Sandoval, IL. with burial to be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Sandoval.The Reverend Harold “Bumper” Quick officiated the service. Thomas died Friday at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.He was born on March 18, 1943, the son of P. Edward and Catherine L (Sutton) Thomas. He married Wilhelmine “Willi” V. Boatright on March 17, 1995, in Reel Foot Lake, TN. He lived most of his life in the Sandoval Area. He was a supervisor and cable splitter for Central Communication of Whitehall and has been in the phone cable cable installation and splicing business for 35 years. He was a member of the Shattuc Unitrd Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge # 1215 of Centralia, the V.F.W., the A.A.R.P., and the Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 51. He was an Air Force Veteran and an avid ourdoors person who enjoyed gardening and hunting. Survivord include; his wife “Willi” of Sandoval; two sons Shane E. Thomas of Sandoval and Jonah S. Thomas and fiancce Jessica MaHaffey of Newton; one brother Peter E. Thomas of Prosser, Washington; five sisters, Margaret Bowen and husband Roy of Kinmundy, Rosemary Jourdan,Edith Hampton and Ruth Perry and husband Bob, all of Sandoval, Charolette and husband George Carson of Odin and one grandchild Collin E. Thomas of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rita Lusch and Agnes Farthing; and a brother William J. Thomas. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Fund.
