Salem Times Commoner Marion County Monday December 20, 1999 Pg. 2A. LaRUE PATE March 24, 1913 - December 19, 1999 Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon for LaRue Pate, 86, of Mt. Vernon, with burial in Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon . Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. The Reverends Randy Pate, Steven Edwards, and Calvin Jean will officiate the services. Pate died at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday at the SunBridge Care Center in Salem. She was born March 24, 1913, the daughter of Herman and Sara Alice (Morphew) Dennis. She married Lofton V. Pate on July 23, 1931, in Morgantown, Ketucky. He preceded her in death in July 4, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvery United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon. Survivors include; two sons, avid Pate and wife Kay of Salem, the Reverand Kenneth R. Pate and wife Sharon of Charleston; a daughter, Hazel Tolley of Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister Irene Dunn of Carmi; one brother, Jesrue Dennis and wife Lorine of Portage, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Harry G. Pate; and two daughters, Sible E. Pate and Edith L. Pate.
