Dear friends: I want to thank all of you who responded to my plea for help about Watertown State Hospital. The Illinois State Archives has a webpage and I was able to find a listing of all of the records held by them. Since they show records for East Moline State Hospital from 1898 onward, I called them. I was very disappointed when they told me these records are sealed. I can't believe records over 100 years old are to be withheld from families. I have written to IRAD at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL in hopes they will have a record of my great grandfather's death. Thank you all so much for taking the time to help me. Regards, K.
